The top five, starting from the highest, are Bone, Dairi, Serang City, Jayapura, and Banyuasin, with respective figures of 985 people per week, 978 people per week, 968 people per week, 949 people per week, and 941 people per week.
Bone is ranked first. With a population of 759,500, the number of people tested in the last week was recorded at 985 people per week. The latest positive rate is 0.51 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Dairi. The population in this region is recorded at 286,240. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested in the last week was 978 people per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.31 percent, or has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Serang City recorded 968 people tested per week, Jayapura recorded 949 people per week, and Banyuasin, with a population of 888,470, recorded 941 Covid-19 tests per week in the last week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 301 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report the number of people tested daily in the last week with higher figures than before. Meanwhile, 84 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested in the last week compared to the previous week's examination.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested in the last week include Bone, Dairi, and Jayapura, with 985, 978, and 949 people tested in the last week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission in some areas has decreased, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
