The Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant of the Covid-19 virus continues to spread globally, reaching 2.62 million cases by Monday, June 12, 2023. Australia recorded the highest increase in Omicron cases, with weekly growth reaching 0.46 percent. GISAID recorded 147,420 new Omicron cases in the country, an increase compared to the previous week's reported 146,750 cases.
Indonesia follows in second place. Compared to the previous week, Omicron cases in the country grew by 0.39 percent. A total of 38,112 new Omicron cases were reported. Daily statistics show a 0.03 percent increase in new Omicron cases compared to the previous day's 38,102 cases.
Following this, new Omicron cases in America increased by 0.16 percent to 2.4 million cases compared to the previous week, and new Omicron cases in Malaysia increased by 0.08 percent to 29,934 cases compared to the previous week.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, as of today's data, there are 38,112 Omicron cases, a 0.03 percent increase compared to the previous day. Since it was first monitored, Omicron cases in Indonesia have continued to rise.
