The Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force reports a continuous improvement in the coronavirus risk zones. This is evident in the decreasing number of areas with high and moderate coronavirus risk levels. Meanwhile, the number of areas with no coronavirus cases continues to increase.
According to the Covid-19 Task Force report, Indonesia remained free of red zones from October 11-17, 2021. This means there have been five weeks without any areas with a high coronavirus risk level in the country since September 13, 2021.
The number of districts/cities in the orange zone decreased by one in the last week. As a result, only two districts/cities have a moderate coronavirus risk level.
Meanwhile, the number of districts/cities in the yellow zone decreased by two to 504 areas from October 11-17, 2021. The previous week, there were 506 districts/cities in the yellow zone.
Furthermore, the number of districts/cities in the green zone (due to no new cases) increased by three to eight areas. However, no districts/cities in Indonesia are in the green zone due to being completely unaffected by the coronavirus.
The minimal number of areas with high and moderate coronavirus risk levels in Indonesia indicates that the virus transmission is increasingly under control. However, the public should not be complacent in preventing coronavirus.
The government continues to urge the public to diligently implement the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. In addition, the public is encouraged to avoid crowds and reduce mobility.
