Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 127 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data from the week of January 15, 2023, shows a national average of 112.98 specimens per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Garut (995 specimens), Bandar Lampung City (933 specimens), Kediri (929 specimens), Cimahi City (903 specimens), and Kupang City (861 specimens).
Garut ranks first, with 995 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 1.62 percent, lower than the previous week's percentage.
Next is Bandar Lampung City. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 933 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 1.06 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Kediri recorded 929 specimens examined per week; Cimahi City, with a population of 613,240, recorded 903 specimens; and Kupang City recorded 861 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 87 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 127 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Bandar Lampung City (933 specimens), Kupang City (861 specimens), and Banjarmasin City (802 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
