Active Covid-19 cases in Jakarta, DKI are still increasing. This has impacted the bed occupancy in various Covid-19 referral hospitals. The Covid-19 Task Force revealed that the bed occupancy rate (BOR) at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Covid Hospital (RSDC) is increasingly full, rising from 15.7% on May 19, 2021, to 81.7% on June 20, 2021.
The increase in BOR occurred a week after the Idul Fitri holiday. As a result, the government added 1,400 beds on June 14 and 15, 2021. This effort initially lowered the BOR, but the trend increased again afterward.
Based on data from the Covid-19 Task Force, 6,042 patients occupied the Wisma Atlet RSDC until Sunday, June 20, 2021. Within 34 days (May 18 - June 20, 2021), the BOR surged by 66.7%.
The bed availability at the Wisma Atlet RSDC is directly proportional to the BOR of Covid-19 referral hospitals in DKI Jakarta. The Indonesian capital recorded a BOR increase, reaching 84.2% on Saturday, June 19, 2021, the highest in the country.
The government continues to urge the public to follow Covid-19 health protocols to suppress the spread of the coronavirus. The public needs to wear masks, maintain social distancing, and wash their hands with soap and running water.
