Panama recorded the highest increase in Covid-19 deaths in the Americas, with weekly growth reaching 33.33 percent. Worldometer recorded four deaths in the country, a 33.33 percent increase compared to the previous day.
Next is Colombia, which recorded 12.39 percent more deaths than the previous week. Daily data shows a 693.75% increase in deaths compared to the previous day. Ecuador saw an 8.33% increase in deaths, the United States a 2.87% increase, and Uruguay recorded three deaths (unchanged from the previous period).
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the Americas over the past seven days occurred in the United States, with 2,292 deaths. Reported deaths in the country increased by 2.87% compared to the previous week. Brazil recorded 875 deaths (down 16.83%), Mexico 269 deaths (down 24.01%), Peru 266 deaths (down 3.97%), and Chile 187 deaths (down 32.73%).
The total number of deaths in the Americas over the past seven days was 4,246. This accounts for 32.73 percent of global Covid-19 deaths, totaling 12,973. The number of deaths in the Americas decreased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 4,612.
