The Ministry of Health notes that Indonesia's oxygen production capacity reaches 1,758 tons per day. Samator Group is the largest producer, capable of supplying up to 1,003 tons per day, supporting 57% of the country's oxygen supply.
Linde Indonesia follows with an oxygen production capacity of 280 tons per day. Air Products Indonesia has an oxygen production capacity of 270 tons per day.
Air Liquide Indonesia has an oxygen production capacity of 190 tons per day. Meanwhile, Iwatani Industrial's oxygen production capacity reaches 15 tons per day.
By region, Java is the largest oxygen producer in Indonesia, supplying 1,488 tons per day. Meanwhile, oxygen supply from outside Java is only 271 tons per day.
However, this does not meet the oxygen needs of Java and Bali. The oxygen needs of these two islands reached 2,033 tons per day until July 10, 2021.
The high demand for medical oxygen is in line with the surge in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. On June 13, 2021, cases increased by 47,899, the highest during the pandemic.
Therefore, the rate of coronavirus transmission needs to be prevented. One way is by diligently implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
