Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 150 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Friday, November 25, 2022, shows a national average of 144.03 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Mataram City, Kediri City, Semarang, Jayapura City, and Jombang, with weekly specimen numbers of 990, 966, 954, 928, and 915 respectively.
Mataram City ranks first. With a population of 527,540, the number of specimens examined is 990 per week. The latest positive rate is 8.63 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Kediri City. The population is 292,930. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 966 specimens are examined per week. The positive rate is 14.46 percent, also down from the previous week.
Then, Semarang with 954 specimens per week, Jayapura City with a population of 309,760 and 928 specimens examined per week, and Jombang with 915 specimens examined per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 136 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 147 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Mataram City, Jayapura City, and Palu City, with 990, 928, and 871 specimens respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
