COVID-19 Referral Hospital Bed Occupancy in Banten Highest Nationally

As of Monday, July 5, 2021, Banten Province had the highest national hospital bed occupancy rate (BOR) for COVID-19 treatment. Specifically, the ICU BOR in Banten reached 96.67%, while the isolation ward BOR was 90.89%.

Jakarta ranked second, with an ICU BOR of 92.32% and an isolation ward BOR of 87.16%.

Southeast Sulawesi's ICU BOR reached 92%, and its isolation ward BOR was 72.12%.

West Java and Yogyakarta had ICU BORs of 89.61% and 88.31%, respectively. Their isolation ward BORs were 89.9% and 89.58%, respectively.

Central Java's ICU BOR reached 83.1%, while its isolation ward BOR was 86.98%.

In response to this data, the government increased hospital bed capacity for COVID-19 treatment, particularly in Java, with increases ranging from 1.6% to 79.7%.

Another measure taken to lower hospital BORs was the implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) from July 3 to 20, 2021. This policy aimed to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Furthermore, the public is urged to adhere to the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. People are also encouraged to avoid crowds and reduce mobility.
