Based on national Covid-19 data, 163 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. As of Monday, April 25, 2022, the national average was 200.27 specimens per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Serdang Bedagai (987 specimens), Pangandaran (978 specimens), Batang (976 specimens), Singkawang City (966 specimens), and Madiun City (956 specimens).
Serdang Bedagai ranks first. With a population of 616,660, it recorded 987 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0.26 percent, lower than the previous week.
Next is Pangandaran. With a population of 407,350, it examined 978 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate is 0 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Batang recorded 976 specimens examined per week; Singkawang City, with a population of 232,760, recorded 966 specimens; and Madiun City recorded 956 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 165 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily specimen examination numbers than before. Meanwhile, 186 other regencies/cities recorded lower specimen examination numbers compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, areas with the highest number of specimens examined include Serdang Bedagai (987 specimens), Singkawang City (966 specimens), and Sanggau (948 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
