The Jakarta Provincial Government claims that the number of positive Covid-19 cases in the capital city has slowed. This is based on data from the Jakarta Provincial Health Office, which recorded a continuous decrease in the number of positive corona cases over a 14-day period from August 29 to October 9, 2020.
From August 29 to September 11, 2020, the total number of positive corona cases reached 14,155, a 37.09% increase compared to the previous 14-day period. Then, from September 11 to 25, the total number of cases reached 16,606, a 31.74% increase.
From September 25 to October 9, the total number of cases reached 15,437, a 22.39% increase. The decrease in the total number of cases over these 14-day periods indicates a slowing trend of positive corona cases in Jakarta. Therefore, the provincial government is implementing a Transitional Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) for the next two weeks, from October 12 to 25, 2020.
To break the chain of corona virus transmission, the government urges the public to implement the 3M's: washing hands with soap, maintaining distance, and wearing a mask.
