The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 81 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.05 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Thursday, September 1, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19, exceeding 1.01 per 100,000 population per week, are Teluk Bintuni (1.45 per 100,000 population per week), Barito Selatan (1.42 per 100,000 population per week), Banggai Laut (1.27 per 100,000 population per week), Buton Tengah (1.07 per 100,000 population per week), and Palangkaraya (1.01 per 100,000 population per week).
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. Eight regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 than previously, while three regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 include Teluk Bintuni (1.45 per 100,000 population per week), Barito Selatan (1.42 per 100,000 population per week), and Banggai Laut (1.27 per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
