The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 67 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Friday, September 23, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 0.66 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Minahasa, Bangli, Central Bengkulu, Selayar Islands, and West Kutai, with respective rates of 0.87 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.87 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.86 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.73 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 0.66 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. Nine regencies/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death tolls than previously, while nine others recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Minahasa, Bangli, and Central Bengkulu, with respective rates of 0.87 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.87 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 0.86 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
