The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) notes that 278 regencies/cities have elderly vaccination coverage based on KTP (Indonesian ID card) identity above the national average, currently recorded at 58.02 percent as of Thursday, July 7, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with elderly vaccination rates exceeding 107.42 percent are Solok City, Garut, Aceh Singkil, Sukabumi, and Tebing Tinggi City, with respective values of 121.35 percent, 116.04 percent, 115.2 percent, 107.86 percent, and 107.42 percent.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in elderly vaccination in most regencies/cities outside Java. Daily elderly vaccination rates higher than previous days were recorded in 257 regencies/cities, while 35 regencies/cities recorded lower elderly vaccination rates.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest elderly vaccination rates include Solok City, Aceh Singkil, and Tebing Tinggi City, with elderly vaccination rates of 121.35 percent, 115.2 percent, and 107.42 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
