Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest Confirmed Positive Cases Nationally (Tuesday, February 28, 2023)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 147 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 0.21 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Tuesday, February 28, 2023).

The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 2.17 per 100,000 population/week are Mimika, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bogor City, each with 2.67, 2.17, 2.17, 2.17, and 2.17 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. Ten districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while eight districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.

Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Mimika, Tarakan City, and Teluk Bintuni, with confirmed positive cases of 2.67, 1.84, and 1.42 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
