Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 159 regencies/cities aggressively conducted suspect testing, exceeding the national average weekly percentage. As of April 3rd, 2022, the national average was 11.48 percent. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the total number of people tested in each region, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Dompu, Padang Lawas Utara, Simalungun, Kotawaringin Barat, and Buol, with ratios of 87.5 percent, 81.75 percent, 67.07 percent, 66.92 percent, and 64.69 percent respectively.
Dompu ranks first. With a population of 269,310, its weekly suspect testing percentage is 87.5 percent. The latest positive rate is 3.29 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Padang Lawas Utara. This region has a population of 293,240. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect testing percentage is 81.75 percent. The positive rate in this region is 2.35 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Furthermore, Simalungun recorded 67.07 percent, Kotawaringin Barat 66.92 percent, and Buol, with a population of 170,760, recorded 64.69 percent in weekly suspect testing percentage.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 167 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher weekly percentage of suspect testing than before. Meanwhile, 204 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly suspect testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage ratios include Dompu, Padang Lawas Utara, and Simalungun, with weekly suspect testing percentages of 87.5 percent, 81.75 percent, and 67.07 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
