Based on data from Monday, August 2, 2021, at 09:06 WIB, Indonesia has detected 3,440,396 cases of Covid-19. 535,135 cases, or 15.6%, are active, requiring hospitalization or self-isolation.
There is a downward trend in active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia. The country has moved down to fifth place globally, dropping one rank from the previous week.
Central Java contributed the most new Covid-19 cases, with 4,234 new cases on August 1, 2021. East Java and West Java followed with 3,671 and 2,769 cases, respectively.
The Ministry of Health recorded an additional 30,738 new cases and 1,604 deaths in a single day. Meanwhile, 39,446 cases recovered during the same period.
The United States still holds the top position with the highest number of active Covid-19 cases globally. The country recorded 35.77 million cases, with 5,466,254 cases, or 15.3%, active. This proportion increased from the previous week, which was 14.4%.
The government continues to urge the public to practice social distancing, wear masks, and wash their hands with soap and running water. Everyone is also encouraged to reduce mobility and avoid crowds to curb the spread of Covid-19.
