After COVID-19 Testing, People Tend to Be More Willing to Travel

The COVID-19 pandemic caused many people to be reluctant to travel, both within and outside their city. A Jakpat survey showed that the majority of respondents only started feeling safe to travel around mid-2021, or when COVID-19 was no longer present in Indonesia.

The majority of respondents stated that they would feel safe to travel only when there were no more COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. This was represented by 29.9% of respondents who had never taken a COVID-19 test. Meanwhile, 16.9% of respondents who had been tested stated the same.

Meanwhile, 19.4% of respondents were not averse to traveling between January and March 2021. Respondents who had been tested showed a higher level of confidence. 27.3% of respondents felt safe traveling during January-March 2021. Jakpat found that people who had taken a COVID-19 test tended to be more willing to travel during the pandemic.

Jakpat conducted a survey of 1,406 internet users. 918 respondents had never been tested for COVID-19, while 488 others admitted to having been tested. The survey was conducted from December 7-10, 2020, with a margin of error below 3%.
