According to GISAID data, Djibouti recorded the highest increase in Omicron cases, with 505 new cases. The total number of Omicron cases in Djibouti currently represents 0.01 percent of the global total.
Iceland follows in second place. Compared to the previous week, Omicron cases in the country increased by 9.51 percent, with 2,003 new cases reported. The daily increase in Omicron cases shows a 4.54 percent rise compared to the previous day's 1,916 cases.
Next, Austria saw a 4.18 percent increase in Omicron cases, reaching 122,270 cases compared to the previous week. Indonesia saw a 3.69 percent increase, reaching 26,352 cases, while Peru saw a 2.82 percent increase, reaching 20,330 cases compared to the previous week.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the number of Omicron cases reached 26,352, a 0.46 percent increase compared to the previous day. Since its first detection, the number of Omicron cases in Indonesia has continued to rise.
