The Ministry of Health (MoH) has highlighted several vulnerable groups feared to be affected by floods and landslides in three Indonesian provinces: Aceh, West Sumatra (Sumbar), and North Sumatra (Sumut). This ecological disaster is known to have occurred since November 25, 2025.
According to the MoH's temporary report, Aceh has the highest number of vulnerable groups. The vulnerable groups identified in this data collection consist of infants (0-11 months), toddlers (12-59 months), pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, the elderly, people with disabilities or special needs, and hemodialysis patients or patients undergoing dialysis therapy.
Below are the details of vulnerable groups recorded in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra as of November 6, 2025, at 23:00 WIB:
Aceh
- Infants (0-11 months): 104,623 individuals
- Toddlers (12-59 months): 100,108 individuals
- Pregnant women: 394,250 individuals
- Breastfeeding mothers: 2,380 individuals
- Elderly: 459,428 individuals
- People with disabilities: 17,077 individuals
- Hemodialysis patients: 545 individuals
: still being calculated. There are 6 thalassemia survivors in Takengon, Central Aceh. One survivor has already received a transfusion in Pijay, while the other 5 could not be contacted during data collection.
The MoH also noted that Dr. Zubair Regional General Hospital serves 27 hemodialysis (HD) patients from Langsa City Regional General Hospital, 17 patients from Aceh Tamiang Regional General Hospital, and 16 patients from East Aceh Regency.
West Sumatra (Sumbar)
- Infants (0-11 months): 5,326 individuals
- Toddlers (12-59 months): 21,938 individuals
- Pregnant women: 1,599 individuals
- Breastfeeding mothers: 3,293 individuals
- Elderly: 24,945 individuals
- People with disabilities: 253 individuals
- Hemodialysis patients: 1,233 individuals
North Sumatra (Sumut)
- Infants (0-11 months): 212 individuals
- Toddlers (12-59 months): 1,990 individuals
- Pregnant women: 568 individuals
- Breastfeeding mothers: 390 individuals
- Elderly: 2,584 individuals
- People with disabilities: 22 individuals
- Hemodialysis patients: 4,011 individuals.
Data compiled by Databoks from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) shows that as of Monday (December 8, 2025) at 08:00 WIB, this disaster has resulted in 926 deaths, 272 missing persons, and approximately 5,000 injured individuals.
