The government and the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) have agreed on the Hajj pilgrimage costs for the 1447 Hijri/2026 AD period.
The total Hajj Pilgrimage Management Cost (BPIH) reached Rp87,490,366 per person. This figure decreased by Rp2,893,000 compared to the 2025 BPIH, which was Rp89,410,268.
In a joint meeting with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR RI, Abdul Wachid, explained that the 2026 Hajj costs also decreased by approximately Rp1 million from the government's proposal of Rp88.4 million.
Citing Katadata, from the total 2026 BPIH, the Hajj Travel Cost (Bipih), or the cost paid directly by pilgrims, is Rp54,193,807 per person. This figure is down from the government's proposal of Rp54.92 million.
Meanwhile, the subsidy taken from the benefit value of the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) management amounts to Rp33,215,559, or 38% of the total BPIH. This figure is also slightly different from the government's proposal of Rp33.48 million per person, or 38% of the total BPIH.
Chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR RI, Marwan Dasopang, explained that this reduction is the result of efficiency from various cost components, including renegotiating service prices in Saudi Arabia and optimizing the benefit value of Hajj fund management.
“This reduction in Hajj costs demonstrates the commitment of the government and the DPR to ease the burden on pilgrims without compromising the quality of Hajj pilgrimage services,” said Marwan, quoted on Thursday (30/10/2025).
