The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 57 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.02 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Monday, May 16, 2022.
The five cities/regencies with the highest agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19, exceeding 0.42 per 100,000 population per week, are Palangkaraya, Fakfak, West Sumbawa, Pesawaran, and Berau, with respective rates of 1.35, 1.21, 0.61, 0.44, and 0.42 per 100,000 population per week.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in the agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. Two regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate than previously, while four regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 include Palangkaraya, Fakfak, and West Sumbawa, with rates of 1.35, 1.21, and 0.61 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
