Covid-19 cases are resurging in several Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and even Indonesia.
According to Katadata, Indonesia's Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded seven positive Covid-19 cases between May 25-31, or the 22nd week of this year. Overall, there have been 72 confirmed cases of the coronavirus since the beginning of the year.
The positivity rate is 2.05%. This means that two out of every 100 people tested were positive for Covid-19.
The highest positivity rate occurred in the 19th week (May 5-11) at 3.62%. The Ministry of Health noted an increase in confirmed Covid-19 cases starting from week 17, with the highest spread in Banten, Jakarta, and East Java.

According to *The Straits Times* and *The Star*, data as of June 2, 2025, shows 10,192 new Covid-19 cases in Thailand. This is a decrease compared to June 1, 2025, which recorded 18,102 new cases. The total for those two days reached 28,294 cases.
Of these new cases, 9,304 were outpatients. There were 888 severe cases requiring hospitalization, and one death was reported.
Cumulatively, from the beginning of the year to May 27, 2025, Covid-19 cases in Thailand reached 323,301, with 69 deaths.
A report from Times of India estimates that Covid-19 cases in Singapore from April 27 to May 3, 2025, reached 14,200. This is an increase from the previous epidemiological week, which recorded 11,100 cases.
In early May 2025, the number of people hospitalized for the disease also increased from 102 to 133. However, the number of intensive care unit cases decreased from three to two.
