The Indonesian government plans to rehabilitate 40,000 narcotics addicts in 2024.

Throughout 2024, 40,900 narcotics addicts in Indonesia received rehabilitation services from government institutions.

17,311 individuals received services from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), and 13,852 from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

Furthermore, 7,800 individuals participated in rehabilitation programs from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), and 1,937 from the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).

Specifically for addicts rehabilitated by the BNN, recovery was conducted through outpatient, inpatient, and Community-Based Intervention (CBI) programs.

The number of BNN rehabilitation participants through outpatient programs was 10,098, inpatient 1,588, and CBI 2,166. Of this number, 4,942 individuals also participated in post-rehabilitation services.

"This figure reflects the significant contribution of the BNN in providing rehabilitation services based on a medical, psychological, and social approach designed to help addicts return to a normal and productive life," stated the BNN in a press release at the end of last year (23/12/2024).
