Data as of Thursday, June 9, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 203.62 people per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of people tested per week, are Malang City (992 people), Kupang City (956 people), Mimika (913 people), Kudus (881 people), and Sukoharjo (878 people).
Malang City ranks first. With a population of 884,360, the number of people tested in the last week was 992 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.4 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Kupang City. The population of this region is 469,730. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested last week was 956 per week. The positive rate in this region is 0.31 percent, down from the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Mimika recorded 913 tests per week, Kudus recorded 881 tests per week, and Sukoharjo recorded 878 Covid-19 tests last week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 268 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher number of people tested daily last week than before. Meanwhile, 120 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested last week compared to the previous week's testing.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested last week include Kupang City, Mimika, and Jambi City, with 956, 913, and 861 people tested last week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
