A JakPat report titled *Future Insights into Ramadan and Eid 2025* reveals Indonesian Muslim consumers' planned spending for this year's Ramadan.
The report notes that a majority (82%) of respondents plan to spend money on zakat, infak, and sedekah (alms-giving).
Other planned expenditures include food for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (75%), group breaking-of-fast events (66%), Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr shopping (62%), and other miscellaneous expenses (37%).
Respondents also plan to return to their hometowns (37%), give gifts or hampers (31%), take family vacations (31%), and give money as "salam tempel" (29%).
The survey also found that 69% of respondents will use their salaries to cover Ramadan expenses. This is followed by those relying on Eid bonuses (THR) (52%), savings (49%), and loans (7%).
The JakPat survey involved 1,702 Muslim respondents, with 53% male and 47% female.
Respondents were located in non-Jabodetabek Java (51%), Jabodetabek (34%), and outside Java (15%). The majority of respondents were millennials (44%), followed by Gen Z (40%), and Gen X (16%).
The online survey was conducted via the JakPat application on January 15-16, 2025, with a margin of error below 5%.
