Indonesia's Star-Rated Hotel Room Occupancy Rate Reached 54.96% in November 2024

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) report, the hotel room occupancy rate (TPK) for star-rated hotels in Indonesia reached 54.96% in November 2024.

This figure decreased by 0.71 percentage points month-to-month (mtm). Year-on-year (yoy), it fell by 1.76 percentage points compared to November 2023.

BPS Deputy for Distribution and Service Statistics, Pudji Ismartini, stated that East Kalimantan had the highest star-rated hotel occupancy rate in November 2024, reaching 68.3%.

"(The increase) was driven, among other things, by several events such as the Kemilau Kaltim Fest, Apresiasi Kreasi Kaltim, and Kaltim One Festival," said Pudji in an online press conference on Thursday (2/1/2025).

Gorontalo and Central Sulawesi followed, achieving star-rated hotel occupancy rates of 64.75% and 61.81%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the lowest star-rated hotel occupancy rate was in Papua Pegunungan, at only 31.01%. This was followed by Bangka Belitung Islands with 31.53% and Maluku with 36.04%.

BPS also recorded that the average length of stay for guests at star-rated hotels in Indonesia in November 2024 was 1.62 nights.

Considering nationality, the average length of stay for foreign guests was 2.59 nights, while for domestic guests it was 1.51 nights.
