Hotel Occupancy Rate at Bintang RI Hotel Drops in September 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the hotel room occupancy rate (TPK) for star-rated hotels in Indonesia reached 54.68% in September 2024.

This figure decreased by 0.17 percentage points compared to October 2024 (month-to-month/mtm). However, year-on-year (yoy), the figure increased by 1.66 percentage points compared to September 2023.

Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, stated that the highest star-rated hotel occupancy rate was recorded in East Kalimantan (Kaltim), reaching 70.31%.

"This was driven, among other things, by the implementation of national events in Kaltim, namely the 30th National MTQ 2024 held in Samarinda City. Several festival events, including activities in the Nusantara Capital City," said Amalia in a press conference on Friday (1/11/2024).

The next highest rates were in Bali and West Papua, which achieved star-rated hotel occupancy rates of 66.34% and 64.57%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the lowest star-rated hotel occupancy rates were in Bangka Belitung Islands (30.56%), Central Papua (30.64%), and Papua Mountains (31.88%).
