Indonesia's Star-Rated Hotel Room Occupancy Increased in October 2025

According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the room occupancy rate (ROR) of star-rated hotels in Indonesia reached 52.84% in October 2025.

This figure marks the highest achievement since the beginning of this year.

The ROR for star-rated hotels in October 2025 increased by 2.68 percentage points compared to the previous month.

However, when compared to October last year, the figure decreased by 2.83 percentage points.

Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS, Pudji Ismartini, stated that the highest ROR for star-rated hotels was in South Papua, at 66.49%.

"This was driven, among other things, by several major cultural events in South Papua and working visits from the central government," Pudji said in a press conference on Monday (1/12/2025).

This was followed by Bali and South Kalimantan, which achieved star-rated hotel RORs of 64.57% and 60.72%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the lowest ROR for star-rated hotels was in Aceh, at only 27.87%, followed by Bangka Belitung at 28.95%, and West Sulawesi at 29.47%.

The average length of stay for guests at star-rated hotels in Indonesia in October 2025 reached 1.65 nights.

Broken down by nationality, foreign guests stayed an average of 2.64 nights, while domestic guests stayed 1.51 nights.
