Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 153 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly suspect testing percentages above the national average. Data as of Saturday, April 2, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 11.73 percent. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the number of people tested in each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage, are Dompu (90.43%), Padang Lawas Utara (82.05%), Simalungun (70.94%), Kotawaringin Barat (67.75%), and Buol (65.97%).
Dompu ranks first. With a population of 269,310, its weekly suspect testing percentage is recorded at 90.43 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.96 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Padang Lawas Utara. The population of this region is 293,240. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect testing percentage is 82.05 percent. The positive rate in this region is 2.33 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Then, Simalungun, with a population of 877,710, recorded a weekly suspect testing percentage of 70.94 percent; Kotawaringin Barat, with a population of 317,880, recorded a weekly suspect testing percentage of 67.75 percent; and Buol, with a population of 170,760, recorded a weekly suspect testing percentage of 65.97 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 163 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report higher daily weekly suspect testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 212 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly suspect testing percentage compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage ratios include Dompu, Padang Lawas Utara, and Simalungun, with weekly suspect testing percentages of 90.43 percent, 82.05 percent, and 70.94 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to participate in reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
