Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 154 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data from the week of December 25, 2022, shows a national average of 145.86 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Deli Serdang (997 people), Kediri (991 people), Bandar Lampung City (987 people), Sukabumi (985 people), and Samarinda City (977 people).
Deli Serdang ranks first, with 997 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 2.01 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Next is Kediri, with 991 people tested per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate is 1.92 percent, also down from the previous week.
Bandar Lampung City recorded 987 tests per week, Sukabumi 985, and Samarinda City 977.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 115 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 223 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests per week include Deli Serdang, Bandar Lampung City, and Samarinda City, with 997, 987, and 977 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
