The Ministry of Health recorded that 2.7 million people in Jakarta had received their first dose of the Covid-19 coronavirus vaccine by Wednesday, June 9, 2021. This number is equivalent to 89.9% of the target of 3 million people.
1.85 million people in Jakarta have also received their second dose of the coronavirus vaccine. This proportion is equivalent to 61.88% of the target.
In detail, 134,300 health workers in Jakarta have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, or 119.6% of the target. 120,700 health workers, or 107.51% of the target, have also received the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
Public officials in the capital who have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine total 1.9 million people, or 97.97% of the target. Of this number, 1.2 million people, or 60.45%, have received the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
Meanwhile, 591,100 elderly people have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, or 64.85%. For the second dose, 532,600 elderly people have received the vaccine, or 58.42%.
In addition to these three priority groups, the coronavirus vaccination in Jakarta has been opened to all residents aged 18 and over using AstraZeneca. Previously, vaccine administration had already entered the third phase, targeting vulnerable communities.
This decision was made because the virus transmission remains high, even though the capital is the national government and economic center. Therefore, controlling Covid-19 cases is important in Jakarta.
Furthermore, the public is urged to comply with the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. The public is also encouraged to reduce mobility and avoid crowds.
