COVID-19 Cases Increase by 2,117 (Tuesday, December 13)

Confirmed Covid-19 cases in Indonesia increased by 2,117 on December 13, 2022. This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 6,702,132.

A total of 6,506,007 patients have recovered, while 160,287 have died.

The government urges the public to actively implement health protocols due to the increasing spread of the Omicron variant in Indonesia. This variant is feared to cause a wider and more difficult-to-control spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia, despite the positive rate having decreased in most regions earlier this year.

Previously, during the first wave of Covid-19 last year, the highest daily increase in cases was recorded on July 15, 2021, at 56,757 cases. With the emergence of the Omicron variant, this record was broken twice in February, with 57,049 cases on February 15 and 64,718 cases on February 16.
