Based on national Covid-19 data, 154 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen testing above the national average. As of Sunday, June 19, 2022, the national average was 171.54 specimens per week.
The top five, in descending order, are Kendal, Jepara, Kediri, Banyuwangi, and Bojonegoro, with 989, 983, 972, 939, and 919 specimens per week, respectively.
Kendal ranks first. With a population of 983,000, it tested 989 specimens per week. The latest positive rate is 0.39%, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Jepara. In its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, it tested 983 specimens per week. The positive rate was 0.48%, also higher than the previous week.
Kediri tested 972 specimens per week, Banyuwangi 939, and Bojonegoro 919.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 139 regencies/cities actively reporting a higher daily number of specimens tested than before. Conversely, 165 regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens tested compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of specimens tested include Mimika, Banjarbaru City, and Ternate City, with 908, 847, and 841 specimens, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
