Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 157 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Saturday, December 10, 2022, shows a national average of 153.25 tests per week.
The top five cities with the highest number of tests conducted last week are: Cimahi (979 people), Bantul (970 people), Samarinda (965 people), Palangkaraya (931 people), and Jepara (924 people).
Cimahi ranks first. With a population of 610,490, 979 tests were conducted last week. The latest positive rate is 10.62 percent, which is lower than the previous week.
Next is Bantul. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 970 tests were conducted last week. The positive rate in this region is 4.64 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Samarinda recorded 965 tests per week, Palangkaraya (population 295,790) recorded 931 tests per week, and Jepara recorded 924 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 160 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of tests conducted daily last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 193 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests last week compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests conducted last week include Samarinda (965 people), Palangkaraya (931 people), and Lampung Barat (682 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
