Hospital bed occupancy rate in Bandar Lampung is nearly 90 percent.

As of Thursday, July 15th, the weekly bed occupancy rate (BOR) in Bandar Lampung City was reported at 89.45 percent. According to the Ministry of Health, a bed occupancy rate in the 70-90 percent range is considered moderate. This means the situation requires immediate attention and technical steps should be prepared to anticipate a surge.

According to data released by the Ministry of Health this afternoon, across Indonesia, 39 regions have exceeded 89.45 percent. Only one regency/city reported a BOR below 60 percent.

The weekly rate of COVID-19 spread in Lampung Province is recorded at 40.68 cases per 100,000 population, with a cumulative total of 6,631 positive COVID-19 cases. A total of 5,964 patients have recovered, and 274 are currently undergoing treatment.

Data compiled until yesterday shows that two districts/cities in the province have a ratio of positive COVID-19 cases exceeding 5 percent per 1,000 population: Metro and Bandar Lampung. The total number of positive cases per 100,000 population in this region is 678.23. In terms of infection rate per 100,000 population, this region ranks 73rd nationally.

Data for Lampung Province shows that as of Thursday, July 15th, the largest number of current COVID-19 infections by age group is in the adult group (31-45 years old) with 7,217 cases. This is followed by early elderly (46-59 years old) with 6,882 cases, young adults (19-30 years old) with 5,326 cases, the elderly (over 60 years old) with 4,112 cases, and children (6-18 years old) with 2,009 cases. The smallest number of cases is in the toddler group (0-5 years old) with 464 cases.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to data from the Ministry of Health, as of Thursday, July 15th, vaccination coverage has reached 107.62 percent for the first phase of healthcare workers and 97.68 percent for the second phase of health human resources. Starting in July 2021, the government has increased its vaccination target with the hope of reaching all Indonesian citizens. In phases 1 and 2, the vaccination target is expected to reach 208.27 million people.
