Indonesia today recorded 1,831 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 6.44 million as of Thursday, October 6, 2022. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases today are DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Banten, and Central Java.

1. DKI Jakarta recorded 680 new cases

DKI Jakarta is ranked first. The increase in cases is recorded at 680 cases, or a 0.05 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which has reached 1.43 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in DKI Jakarta is now 1.43 million. The trend of case development in this region over the past week has decreased. This can be seen from the lower confirmation rate per 100,000 population compared to last week. Similarly, the positive rate in this region is recorded as lower than before. According to the Ministry of Health, the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) for COVID-19 hospitals in this province is recorded at 7.23 percent.
2. West Java recorded 302 new cases

3. East Java recorded 222 new cases
