Indonesian Hajj pilgrims' satisfaction increased during the 1443 Hijriah/2022 Masehi Hajj season. This is reflected in the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrim Satisfaction Index (IKJHI) reaching 90.45 in 2022. This figure is higher than in previous years.
This level indicates that Indonesian Hajj services in 2022 met the "very satisfactory" criteria and represent the best achievement in the 11 years of the survey.
The IKJHI is derived from two index components: pilgrim satisfaction level and the importance or expectations of pilgrims regarding all types of services provided to Indonesian Hajj pilgrims while in Saudi Arabia. The IKJHI has shown an upward trend since 2010, although somewhat fluctuating, as seen in the graph.
The following are the IKJHI scores by work area in 2022:
* Madinah: 89.42
* Makkah: 91.57
* Armuzna: 89.63
* Airport: 91.28
As is known, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah only opened entry for foreign Hajj pilgrims from around the world starting with the 2022 Hajj season, including from Indonesia.
During the 2020-2021 Hajj season, Hajj activities were suspended due to restrictions imposed as a result of the spread of the coronavirus worldwide.
During the 2022 Hajj season, the government prepared a Hajj pilgrimage scheme to serve pilgrims from departure to their return to Indonesia.
One of the schemes prepared concerned health protocols, where prospective Hajj pilgrims were required to have received at least two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. In addition, the Saudi Arabian Government also imposed an age limit of under 65 years for prospective Hajj pilgrims.
During the 1443 H/2022 M Hajj season, Indonesia received a total Hajj quota of 100,051 pilgrims who were given the opportunity to go to the Holy Land. This number is half the normal quota.
