Based on national Covid-19 data, 183 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data as of Saturday, April 2, 2022, shows a national average of 211.78 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest, are Serang City, Bengkalis, Ngawi, Lampung Timur, and Pacitan, with 992, 982, 976, 962, and 922 tests per week, respectively.
Serang City ranks first. With a population of 718,430, it conducted 992 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 5.24 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Bengkalis. With a population of 570,570, it conducted 982 tests per week. The positive rate is 2.24 percent, also down from the previous week.
Ngawi, with a population of 841,600, conducted 976 tests per week. Lampung Timur conducted 962 tests per week, and Pacitan, with a population of 557,760, conducted 922 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 96 regencies/cities actively reporting a higher number of weekly tests than the previous week. Meanwhile, 289 regencies/cities reported fewer tests than the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of weekly tests include Bengkalis (982 tests), Lampung Timur (962 tests), and Banjarbaru City (888 tests).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
