Based on national Covid-19 data, 131 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from Tuesday, November 15, 2022, shows a national average of 0.45 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, ranked from highest to lowest number of people tested per 1,000 people per week, are Badung (7.85 people), South Jakarta (5.75 people), Central Jakarta (5.72 people), West Jakarta (4.09 people), and Balikpapan (4.08 people).
Badung ranks first. With a population of 727,950, the number of people tested there was 7.85 per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 7.38 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is South Jakarta. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested was 5.75 per 1,000 people per week. The positive rate in this region was 25.95 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Central Jakarta recorded 5.72 tests per 1,000 people per week; West Jakarta recorded 4.09 tests per 1,000 people per week; and Balikpapan recorded 4.08 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 148 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 156 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested include Badung, Balikpapan, and Klungkung, with 7.85, 4.08, and 2.2 people tested, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
