The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) notes that 279 regencies/cities have elderly vaccination coverage above the national average, currently recorded at 59.85 percent (data as of Sunday, August 28, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with elderly vaccination rates exceeding 120.09 percent are Padang Panjang City, Solok City, South Jakarta City, Garut, and Yogyakarta City, with respective values of 287.86 percent, 182.42 percent, 128 percent, 120.36 percent, and 120.09 percent.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in elderly vaccination in most regencies/cities outside Java. An increase in daily elderly vaccination rates compared to previous days was recorded in 144 regencies/cities, while four regencies/cities recorded lower elderly vaccination rates.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest elderly vaccination rates include Padang Panjang City, Solok City, and Aceh Singkil, with elderly vaccination rates of 287.86 percent, 182.42 percent, and 117.37 percent, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
