Nearly 2 million people in Bali have received their first dose of the Covid-19 coronavirus vaccine as of Tuesday, June 22, 2021. This figure is equivalent to 277.93% of the target of 715,900 people. A total of 721,200 people in Bali, or 100.74% of the target, have also received their second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
Specifically, 42,900 health workers in Bali have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, or 116.64% of the target. 39,500 health workers, or 107.21% of the target, have also received their second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
1.75 million public officials in Bali, or 516.57% of the target, have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Public officials in Bali who have received their second dose of the vaccine number 572,050, or 169.05% of the target.
Meanwhile, the coverage of coronavirus vaccination for the elderly in Bali is only 198,700 people, or 58.3% of the target for the first dose. For the second dose, 109,700 elderly people in Bali have received the coronavirus vaccine, or 32.19% of the target.
Because of the high coverage rate, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) is preparing for coronavirus vaccine-based tourism in Bali. Every tourist will be able to receive a coronavirus vaccine, so the program will not only apply to the people of the Island of Gods.
Therefore, it is hoped that people will choose domestic vaccine tourism over that in other countries. Furthermore, this step aims to increase tourist visits and revive Bali's economy, which has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
