Today's COVID-19 Provincial Data Update: Jakarta Records Highest Increase (Monday, July 18, 2022)

Indonesia today recorded 3,393 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 6.14 million as of Monday, July 18, 2022. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases today are DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, East Java, and Bali.

Here is the breakdown of the highest number of new Covid-19 cases by province today

1. DKI Jakarta recorded 1,864 new cases

DKI Jakarta is ranked first. The increase in cases here is recorded at 1,864 cases, or a 0.14 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which has reached 1.29 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in DKI Jakarta is now 1.3 million.

Unfortunately, in addition to recording a high number of new cases, DKI Jakarta also recorded two deaths. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in DKI Jakarta has reached 15,360.

2. West Java recorded 531 new cases

Next is West Java. The increase in Covid-19 cases here is 531 cases. The seven-day positive rate in this region is recorded at 5.05 percent. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested for Covid-19 in this province is recorded at 86,023 per week.
3. Banten recorded 470 new cases

4. East Java recorded 181 new cases
