Jakarta's Active Cases Near 13,000

According to data from the Jakarta Provincial Government, the average daily increase in confirmed positive Covid-19 cases was 1,123 in the last week. On Monday (October 5th), there were 822 additional positive Covid-19 cases. This figure is lower than the previous day's 1,430 cases.

Jakarta has 80,036 positive cases, or 26% of the total cases in Indonesia. Meanwhile, 12,969 others are still undergoing treatment or self-isolation.

Jakarta is currently still under its second large-scale social restriction (PSBB) since September 14, 2020. This decision, also referred to as an emergency brake, is based on the continuously increasing rate of Covid-19 transmission. The government continues to urge the public to practice the 3M movement: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
