Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 184 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Thursday, March 31, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 87 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, East Jakarta City, West Jakarta City, Sukabumi City, and Mimika City, with percentages of 991.46 percent, 842.08 percent, 796.88 percent, 739.21 percent, and 689.29 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage here was recorded at 991.46 percent. The latest positive rate is 1.55 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is East Jakarta City. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage was 842.08 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 3.49 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Sukabumi City, with a population of 331,750, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 796.88 percent; Mimika City recorded a weekly testing percentage of 739.21 percent; and Mimika City recorded a weekly testing percentage of 689.29 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 104 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 277 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Mimika City, and Metro City, with weekly testing percentages of 991.46 percent, 689.29 percent, and 574.86 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
