The Indonesian government reported an additional 166 Covid-19 deaths on Monday, September 20, 2021. This figure is higher than the 145 deaths reported the previous day.
Data from the Ministry of Health shows that East Java reported the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, with 26 fatalities. This is the highest number reported by any province.
Furthermore, Aceh reported 23 additional Covid-19 deaths, Central Java 23, North Sumatra 12, and West Java 10.
Additionally, Yogyakarta reported 9 deaths, Bali 9, Lampung 8, Riau 7, and Bangka Belitung 6.
In total, these 10 provinces reported 129 deaths (77.71%). Another 37 deaths were reported across 14 other provinces. No additional deaths were reported in the remaining 10 provinces.
The government also reported 1,932 new Covid-19 cases today. Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 4.19 million people have been infected with the deadly virus. Meanwhile, 6,799 people recovered today, bringing the total number of recoveries since the pandemic began to 3.99 million.
