Data as of Thursday, May 19, 2022, shows a national average of 149.65 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Jayapura City, Manokwari, Tarakan City, Jayapura, and East Jakarta City, with ratios of 985.71 percent, 964.57 percent, 874.81 percent, 842.86 percent, and 801.32 percent, respectively.
Jayapura City is ranked first. With a population of 309,760, the weekly percentage of people tested is recorded at 985.71 percent. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Manokwari. The population of this region is recorded at 176,240. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 964.57 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.06 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Tarakan City, with a population of 267,270, recorded a weekly percentage of people tested at 874.81 percent; Jayapura recorded 842.86 percent; and East Jakarta City recorded 801.32 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 253 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 122 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Jayapura City, Manokwari, and Tarakan City, with weekly percentages of 985.71 percent, 964.57 percent, and 874.81 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
