This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Purwakarta, Sikka, Tarakan City, and Kutai Kartanegara, with percentages of 386.96 percent, 237.02 percent, 204.04 percent, 192.86 percent, and 186.6 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 649,420, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 386.96 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.48 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Purwakarta. The population of this region is recorded at 965,370. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 237.02 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.4 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Sikka, with a population of 325,260, has a weekly testing percentage of 204.04 percent; Tarakan City has a weekly testing percentage of 192.86 percent; and Kutai Kartanegara has a weekly testing percentage of 186.6 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 167 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report higher daily weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 167 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Sikka, and Tarakan City, with weekly testing percentages of 386.96 percent, 204.04 percent, and 192.86 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
