The top five, starting from the highest, are Kediri City, Yogyakarta City, Denpasar City, Garut, and Kupang City, with 976, 944, 925, 913, and 872 specimens per week, respectively.
Kediri City ranks first. With a population of 294,530, 976 specimens were examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Yogyakarta City. The population is 455,540. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 944 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 0.49 percent, also down from the previous week.
Following this, 925 specimens were examined per week in Denpasar City, 913 in Garut, and 872 in Kupang City.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 86 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 129 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Denpasar City, Kupang City, and Bandar Lampung City, with 925, 872, and 851 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
