The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Kediri (984 specimens), Kediri City (977 specimens), Deli Serdang (870 specimens), Palangkaraya City (869 specimens), and Pasuruan (844 specimens).
Kediri ranks first, with 984 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 3.32 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Next is Kediri City, with a population of 292,930. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 977 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 6.1 percent, also down from the previous week.
Specimen examinations in Deli Serdang totaled 870 per week, Palangkaraya City recorded 869 specimens per week, and Pasuruan recorded 844 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact across various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 90 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 150 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Deli Serdang, Palangkaraya City, and Mimika, with 870, 869, and 836 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
